Watch out for Prohibited Products
Rules are rules and unfortunately sometimes they can affect what you can and cannot sell on CSE’s. Each CSE has their own set guidelines that you have to follow stating which products are prohibited, and you HAVE to abide by them or you will get kicked off. The tricky part is not all CSE’s have the same prohibited items, so you would just need to find out which ones are prohibited on each separate engine.
Here are a few examples of major CSE’s and some of their Prohibited items:
Shopzilla-
- Replica goods (including, but not limited to handbags, sunglasses or clothing) Firearms & Ammunition
- Tasers, Stun Guns, or any other electrical-incapacitation weapons
- Prescription medication
Shopping.com-
- Firearms
- Ammunition (although certain firearms accessories such as scopes, rangefinders, holsters, etc are allowable)
- Lingerie or any kind of product that contains images with full or partial nudity. (includes images with sheer fabrics covering the nipple and crotch areas)
- Adult movies
- Prescription drugs
Google Product Search
- Adult goods and services
- Body parts
- Copyright unlocking devices
- Prescription drugs or
pharmacies - Weapons
Just wanted you to have a look at what can potentially get you rejected by a popular CSE. So, before you send the CSE your products do your homework and see what’s allowed and what’s not.
By using FeedPerfect, we have a very simple way of removing products from select engines. All you have to do is go to:
Catalog > Assignment > Current Filters > Click Edit > Type in the product that you would like removed > Execute > Then Click on the CSE that you would like the product removed from > Validate and Publish your select feeds
That’s it.
